Statement on Departure of Chairman Jay Clayton

Today, Chairman Clayton announced his intention to depart the Commission at the end of the year. In addition to advancing his policy priorities, Chairman Clayton has led the agency through difficult times for the markets and our staff. He has consistently put the safety of our employees and their families first while ensuring that the Commission continued to operate at a high level and carry out its day-to-day functions. We appreciate his public service and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
